| Synopsis |
It is well known that knowledge can transform the self; what is less well understood is that faith too can be a life-transforming experience. This film reveals how faith -- blind, leap-into-the-void faith -- enriches consciousness because "without hope the mind would never encounter the unhoped-for" (Heraclitus) |

Silvana Jakich Bio |

Born to immigrant parents in the sleepy suburbs of Wellington, New Zealand,
now living in the crumbly splendour of New York's Lower East Side.
Worst memories of childhood- being forced to learn the piano accordian at the
tender age of six.
Best memories- collecting seagull feathers from the grassy banks of the Hutt River. Went to University, hated it. Went overseas,
loved it. Spent 8 carefree years in London waitressing, studying acting and
travelling. Decided Sydney was the place to be as my sister was there and
the lifestyle was better.
Continued acting, started doing stand up and
deejaying on the radio. Problem-couldn't mesh with Sydney's laid back rhythm
and was missing the cultural melting pot of Europe so when the opportunity
to study acting in New York arose I jumped at the chance, moved and began a
serious love affair with this city that continues to grow and inspire me.
Writing wise, I have co-written the plays; "The Rise and Fall of Tricky
Ricky", "Lifestyles of the Poor and Struggling" and "Do You Know Mario Van
Tucci?", won an award for the short story "Mother's Hands" in Australia and
completed two film scripts- "Love and Other Setbacks" and "Underdogs",
the last of which is currently in post production. |
